Twisted Metal Framed

Twisted Metal is framed.  I can't decide if I like it or not!  I love the frame & the main mat, but I can't decide about the gold under-mat.  What do you think?  Any opinions?  Should I send it to the ANG Seminar exhibit?

Baroque framed

Baroque is back from the framer.  I had it framed to go with 2 other needlepoints that hang in the guest room.  I am very pleased with it.

Here is how it looks on the wall:

Jason & Monica, The Beginning

Our dear friends are getting married!  We have known Jason for at least 10 years & Monica since they have been together, 5 years maybe.  I have begun their wedding gift!  The wedding is the end of June, so I have to concentrate on this project above all others till it is done.
The design of their names was created with Wordles.  Do you know it?   It's really cool!
Anyway, I have used Neon Rays Plus and FyreWerks for the names.  The canvas is that darkish blue, I think it is called Leventine Blue.  The first border is started, with Watercolours, and it will be filled in with pearl cotton, I think.  There will be 2 more borders, working towards the center.  Then I'll have to decide what to do next!  I am using part of the June Moes pattern that I used for the box we gave them for Xmas (see below).  This will go into a Sudberry House tray to coordinate with the box.

Diamond in a Square FINISHED

Diamond in a Square, my latest Mad Miters, is finished!  Just last night I put in the last stitch.  I am really happy with this piece!  It was an experiment in combining Mad Miters with straight Bargello, using a unit pattern.
For those of you who have signed up for my Mad Miters class for Cyberpointers, you will NOT be doing this!
I would not recommend attempting something like this until you have quite a few Mad Miters under your belt!  I developed the technique and have done many, many Mad Miters pieces.  And I still had to resort to the computer to figure some of it out!

Mad Miters by Michelle

Registration for my Mad Miters class through Cyberpointers ends tomorrow.  Here is a pic of the Mad Miters pilot stitched for me by Michelle (of KC fame, see yesterday's post).  Michelle did a beautiful job and her very first Mad Miters is gorgeous!

Little Helper

Last weekend the stitching group I belong to stitched at my house.  We always have a great time and my cat KC joined in the festivities.  Most of the day she lay in the middle of the table, keeping an  eye on everything.  But once in awhile, she got involved!  KC loves threads, and shiny threads in particular.  Here she is helping Michelle with the beautiful Diamond Delights.

2012 SOTM May

This week I completed the May section of this year's SOTM.  It is a pretty pattern, but the compensation was not nice!  This whole project has been a lesson in compensation so far!  I can't help but wonder if the designer's actually stitched this!
I did go ahead and attach the beads.  I hate it when I think I'm finished & then have to go back & add the beads!
I'm pretty sure I'm going to want to outline the sections.  My basted outline stitches show quite a bit since there is a lot of open canvas.  I am very glad I didn't try to draw this onto the canvas because the pencil or pen lines would all still be evident!
Here is the whole thing so far:

FMTM Block 2

Block 2 of FMTM is finished.  This is not going to be my favorite block, but I think it turned out pretty.  This block was all about cross stitches and they were mostly tiny & layered & not fun.  Oh well, it's done now.  I am not happy with my 3rd color family and may do without it altogether.  I did not use any of it in Block 2 and I may take out what I have in Block 1.

Tuscan Midnight, Framed

Tuscan Midnight is now completely finished:  It is framed!  The mat and frame are both purple and I like it!  I probably would not have picked purple, but it sure turned out pretty.  This piece will hang in my husband's office - he chose this colorway and likes the vibrant colors.

Baroque Finished

Here it is.  Baroque is all finished!  I really like this piece and it was mostly pretty fun to stitch.  The background took awhile, but not that bad!  Oh boy!  Now I can start something new!
