DH was out of town for a week and I made significant progress on the Marta Mask.
The striped outlines set me back for a long time, but once I figured out how I wanted to do them, it went pretty quick. So they are all done and the light "feathers" are also done. I used "Katie's Cross" from Suzy's Stitches, in 4 shades of gray #8 pearl cotton and 2 shades of light gray Neon Rays Plus.
Next up will be the area below the feathers. I think I'm going to do that in Smyrna crosses and Mosaic.

Nature-Sky, Mostly Finished
Nature-Sky is finished. Well, except for the feather.
The feather will cover most of the large light area.
So, the next time I go to Michaels, I'll see if I can find the "right" feather.
Or, DH will be visiting our Reno house for a few days & I'll have him look to see if I have any white feathers in the "feather box" in my craft cupboard up there!
No hurry though as I need to write up the instructions before attaching the feather!

Young Man's Fancy FINISHED
Young Man's Fancy is finished. Once I got the #8 Kreinik I wanted for the center, it didn't take long.
YMF was intended to be a box top, and I had the Betsy Box on hand. To fit, it only needed a border of Slanted Gobelin over 2, all the way around. I used the darkest overdye for the border since it matched the box pretty well.
Below are photos of the finished box. DH is using it to hold guitar picks & other guitar paraphernalia.
Thanks, Jan, for a great project!

Mad Miters Landscape
This may be my most "mad" Mad Miters to date! It is a landscape. Sort of.
I painted the canvas. But not very well. I just wanted the different sections to not have a lot of dandruff due to all the different colors I'll be using.
I am starting each "center" the same and will compensate in between. I think.
I already need more colors, a trip to my LNS is required!
This may end up on the scrap heap, but it is an idea I have to explore!

Nature - Sky
Nature-Sky has been in the works for a month or so. I have been working on it, just haven't posted about it yet! And, yes, it will be round like the other Nature designs. Sky is the last one and will eventually have a feather on it.
I had a lot of trouble with this one. Too bad when you can't read your own directions! Actually, the directions are fine, it's the operator who can't count! I hope to have this finished by next week.
BLOGGER NOTE: I am able to post & publish if I use Google Chrome as a browser. I prefer Explorer, but I still can't post my Blog from there.

Young Man's Fancy, Progress
I have done a bunch of research, deleted temp files & cookies, downloaded Google Chrome tor browser. It seems to be working again, but we'll see...
I have nearly completed Young Man's Fancy. I just have to fill in the last set of stitches in the center and do the border. I have to get thread for the center, it will be the same metallic I used in the brown triangles, but I need a lighter weight. I used #12 Kreinik in the triangles, but want #8 for the center. I will be making a trip to my LNS this week!
I won't be doing the border until I see how it fits in the Betsy Box I have. It may not need a border at all, or just a small one.

Blogger problem
I tried to post this blog today, but it won't work from my laptop. I am writing this from my iPad. Trouble is, all my photos are on laptop. Tomorrow I'll look into it further and maybe I'll have to sync my photos to this iPad. Try to post that way.
I had the same message come up a few weeks ago but fixed it with comparability mode. That no longer does it. Now when I try to sign on or post directly from blog I get an error message and then a blank screen. I don't know what's going on!
Sorry!

FMTM Block #6
FMTM is my main project right now. I have been working on it a lot and have finally completed the last block. This one got pretty tedious, but I finally finished it. It is all Rice Stitch variations, even the ones that look a bit like flowers. I actually like those flowery ones quite a bit!
Next up is sashing and borders. A lot of stitching left to do but I am determined to finish this soon. It has been almost two years in the works.
Here's what it looks like now:

Young Man's Fancy
Don't you just love quilt block names?
Anyway, the Cyberpointers meeting has started for January and Jan Fitzpatrick is doing the program for us. You probably know Jan more for her wonderful rugs, but she also does delightful designs from quilt blocks.
This is my version. It is supposed to have 2 color families and I originally had chosen all Watercolours, blues and brown/golds.
I liked the scotch stitches, but as soon as I started the triangles, I knew I didn't like the blue, so I took it out. I am now going with all browns & golds. The triangles are now pearl cotton and Kreinik. I like it now!
