Barbara's Ravine was inspired by a photo my sister-in-law took of wildflowers in a ravine near her home. This was so much fun to stitch! I drew out the main areas from the photo and then filled in with a variety of bargello stitches. I don't remember what thread I used for this, but it is all wool. The pattern was in Needlepoint Now, March/April 2008.

You've been a great addition to my blog reading repertoire - my morning coffee ritual! I'm so glad you're doing it, and hope you continue for a long time - very high quality you are in both design and explanation.
This is one design that I have always loved and did not remember that the pattern was there. Just took my magazine out and here it was on page 13 and 14.
It is also wonderful to see the photograph that inspired this design.
