Stitch of the Month 2010 FINISHED

Hurray!  2010's SOTM is finished!  I put the last bead on this week.  I didn't do all the beads because way back when I had erroneously put metallic where the beads were supposed to go, and I like it that way.
The beads I used are Mill HIll Magnifica Glass Beads, copper #10075 and 2 dye lots of #10089 - one of them is very silver and the other is more of a light gold.  These colors all worked perfectly with the Ombre I had used.
My finished size turned out to be 8-1/4" x 8-1/2".  I don't know yet what I'm going to do with this, but if I want it to be Square, I'll have to add some to 2 sides.
Anyway it is all done & I"m so happy!

Stitch of the Month 2010, November

Whew!  I just finished November's part of the ANG SOTM in the nick of time.  December's work is ready to begin, but I have to get some beads!  I had forgotten there were beads.  I'll get my stash out & see what I have!  November's lesson filled in the border diamonds with Satin Stitch & then filled in around the diamonds with more couching.  Lots & lots of couching!!  It seemed to take forever.  This is a very pretty, delicate design & I'm pleased with the way my color choices have turned out.

Stitch of the Month 2010, October

I finally finished the Stitch of the Month for October. I'm quite pleased with this piece. It looks very pretty & delicate. October's section is the outside diamond border. I used Waterlilies #130 and the Kreinik Ombre #1200. Now I'm wondering what November will bring!

I am also trying out my husband's "big" camera and wow! what a difference. I guess I'll be using that camera now for all my needlework pictures.

Stitch of the Month 2010, September

Now I am caught up again with ANGs SOTM. Sept. was not hard, but it took awhile as the piece gets bigger! I love the little border stitch with the laid metallic couched with the Tied Oblong Cross. Very nice technique & it looks so pretty.

Stitch of the Month 2010, August

The August section of ANG's Stitch of the Month is complete. I did it in 2-3 hours last night while watching TV. It is just a simple eyelet, so wasn't hard, just took some time! It only used 2 strands of Splendor, so is pretty light coverage, I think I should have used 3. I have September's instructions too, so will try to get that done sometime this month.

Stitch of the Month 2010, July

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! I hope you all have/had a safe & fun holiday. Yesterday & today I worked on the July SOTM and completed it. So that can be put away for another month. I'm curious to see what Susan uses next month to fill in the spaces!

Stitch of the Month 2010, May-June

This week I caught up on ANG's Stitch of the Month (SOTM). I hadn't done May as it was just a little bit & I didn't want to get everything out just for that. So first I did May's section.
Earlier in the year, I had done the Corner Eyelets and put in too many, but they looked nice so I left them. Well, that turned out OK because when I put in May's Crescent Cups, they went over those metallics Eyelets and look really pretty!
Next was the little Satin stitch design to fill in the corners of the cross. Didn't take too long. I'm curious now to see what comes next to fill in the blanks!

Stitch of the Month 2010, April

I hope you all had a nice Easter. I got a lot done this weekend!

First up is the April section of this year's ANG Stitch of the Month by Susan Reed. This month she added some cute little Hilton style hearts in all the corners. I decided I wanted them to be somewhat prominent, so I instead of the Splendor, I used the Kreinik Ombre. I really like the way they turned out!

I'll post again on Wednesday.

Stitch of the Month 2010

I finally started ANG's Stitch of the Month project for 2010. This project is designed by Sue Reed. As you can probably guess, I've changed all the colors! I decided to go with a nearly monochromatic scheme. I started with Waterlilies #130 and picked 3 Splendors from that, plus some Kreinik. I picked some Silk Lame Braid too, but so far I haven't used it; I tried it for one stitch, but thought it was too heavy. I am caught up now, having completed the Jan/Feb/Mar sections. It has a very delicate, feminine look.
