Keiko by Jim Wurth, Finished

Keiko is Finished! Sorry the scan isn't too good, the beads hold it up off the glass & it comes out a little blurry. This is still not my favorite piece, but it looks better than it did. I still think it is too busy. If I were to do it again, I'd use fewer colors, maybe just one, and either make the beads more muted or replace them with Smyrnas. I will have it framed & it will hang in my Master Bedroom as the colors fit there.

I'm very new to needlepoint, and I think it is beautiful. I just love it.

It's beautiful! And I may use your idea for replacing the beads. I really don't like working with beads.

I love how this turned out, Liz. Beads are fiddly and time consuming but I love what they add to a piece of NP. It seems to have worked up very quickly to me.

If you really can't stand it, I bet all of us are willing to give it room on our walls!

Your stitching is beautiful, as always, but this piece is too busy both in pattern and in texture - it's just way too much. I look forward to your returning to your own designs!! I love working with beads - the way I do it, it's no more trouble than just plain stitching.
