Interactive Ribbons Bargello

This weekend I started on a new project. It is a Bargello using Kreinik's new Holographic Ribbon for the turquoise strip down the centers of the ribbons. The ribbon is really pretty, especially when under a strong light. I am trying the 1/8" ribbon, but it is a bit heavy for 18-count. I will try the 1/16" ribbon next. The 2 greens are Silk & Ivory.
This design starts with the interlaced wavy ribbons, but will change when I get the center finished. I have run out of the ribbon, so won't be doing anymore for a few days!

This is going to be a stunner! I love the design. Here's hoping it shows up one day for sale on your web site.

Thanks! Yes, this piece is destined for sale on my website, eventually. Glad you both like it!

Intriguing pattern. Very distinctive and I'm wondering what will show up in the middle. I think you have another winner here, Liz!

That is beautiful. I'm reading about bargello and trying to learn it. I think it is beautiful.

Fascinating - You do unbelievable things with bargello! I like the 1/16" metallic ribbon, as it's very versatile - I'm working on a "holographic" piece, myself, but it's not this pretty.

Beautiful design and wonderful colors. When I was last in my LNS I noticed the Kreinik holographic spools and bought one each of the 7colors she had; however mine says Tapestry Braid #12 and the color numbers have an L on the end. Is this the same thing but in a different size? I know nothing about this thread but is it supposed to have a different look at different angles-like a holograph? Thanks.

So far so good. It is really cool with the wavy ribbons and the colors are great. I can't wait to see how it comes out.

The 1/8"ribbon I am using is the same colors/effect as the braid that you bought, but the ribbon is flat, like, well, ribbon! Same color numbers (with the L), different product. I think the 1/16 ribbon will work better for Bargello, if it isn't too thin. I'll let you all know!

I use the 1/16" ribbon for upright or slanted long stitches on 18 mesh canvas, as it lies so nice and flat. Braid won't lie flat - but is better for tent stitches, etc. I keep both. I use #12 braid for 18 mesh canvas.
